To kick-off the Stones Detroit “Dog of the Week”, I would like to introduce you to Penelope. Penelope is a three and a half year old, bulldog mix. She’s a very sweet and happy girl who has had a tough start to life. She was part of a cruelty case and lived in a shelter for two years. After the case concluded, Penelope went up for adoption. Sadly, no one adopted her and time ran out. Since Penelope had spent two years, almost her whole life, in that shelter, the workers became quite attached to her and reached out to some local rescues. Last Day Dog Rescue answered the call. Penelope is safe from execution but due to lack of fosters she is currently boarded in a kennel that works with the rescue. You would think that with all of the isolation from people that she would be shy and timid but she’s not. She craves human attention! She loves all people, big and small, young and old. She loves to play but she also loves to cuddle and from what I hear, she is a pretty good kisser. There is one small catch, since she didn’t receive proper socialization during her young life, Penelope needs to be the only dog in her home.
Penelope is so deserving of her own family and she deserves to see what the good life is all about. If you think that you could be her person, please take a look at her page by clicking here. Last Day Dog Rescue is always searching for fosters and volunteers as well. If interested in helping, you can fill out an application on their website. If you’re not on the market for a pooch, please share Penelope’s story. You never know who is searching for their newest addition.
